Theo's Movie Corner

Just finished watching Shrek 3 on DVD, and while it was enjoyable, I don't rate it nearly as good as the first and second installment. It's a shame sometimes franchises get sold out a little bit too much, thus bringing the name of the entire franchise down. I suppose that's what happened with this one.

With many movie series, the first one is the most enjoyable (with some exceptions, such as Terminator 2: Judgement Day). Sometimes a second movie brings some extra fun in, such as Jennefer Saunders' excellent roll as The Fairy Godmother in Shrek 2. In this third installment, for some star power, they brought in Justin Timberlake. While usually I love everything Justin does (in particular him taking his clothes off), he just didn't bring anything extra to the movie.

So, while I did have quite a good evening, it wasn't as good as it could have been. Right now there's a movie called One Hour Photo on tv, starring Robin Williams as a psychopat stalking some typical American family. Could be good, but I need to go to bed.
