I do like january

Can you believe how fast january has gone by? Normally january is my least favourite month of the year, which is I guess a sentiment a lot of people share with me. I don't like the fact that it's still cold and rainy, but all the festive Christmas decorations to compensate that, have disappeared. Basically, january is kind of a depressing month. No wonder most suicide attempts happen in januari.

Not this year, though! I've been having a great month! Not only did I get my job evaluation, resulting in a structural raise and a bonus this month, but also things are really working out both in and out of the office. I still really love my job, which is of course good, and I also really like my life besides from work.

Over the past months I kinda learned to appreciate not really doing anything. You know, there was a time where basically I needed to go out, or at least do something with friends, to have a good day. It was as if I wasn't able to have a good time by myself, and needed other people to feel good. Not so anymore, as I really learned to appreciate the joy of spending an evening on the couch in my slobby clothes watching bad movies. I wouldn't even think of that about a year ago.

Also, since Ziena and I go swimming twice every week, there are two evenings useful spend, which is also something I'm pretty happy with. Add to that this very busy, but overall satisfying week, and you can imagine january made me quite content. I can't wait till later this afternoon, to go for a nice cold beer after work!
