Hillary Clinton won last night in the Florida Democratic primaries, but didn't win any delegates for the Democratic Convention, which is kind of a shame. Florida is being punished by the National Democratic Party for planning their primary too early, so the votes won't have an official meaning.
Still, even though these votes aren't counted for the final results, the difference between Clinton and Barack Obama was quite significant (about 20% difference). I'm not sure how the Florida population is made up, in terms of how many black people live there, but it sure does sound like a big difference! Furthermore, I don't really believe in the theory of black people automatically voting for Obama. I think this isn't a race issue at all, but more of a 'need for change' issue. Both Clinton and Obama promise change, so it's up to the voters to decide who's the best candidate to deliver.
As I've said before, basically I don't really care who's going to win, as long as it's a Democrat. I do have to admit I've got a slight tendency towards Hillary Clinton, but I would be just happy seeing Obama win. What's important is, is that next november there will be a strong Democrat ready to stand up against Romney, Huckabee, McCain or whoever the Republican candidate will be.
How I was I was eligable to vote in the United States. It's really frustrating to spend at least an hour a day reading all there is to read about the candidates, without being able to actually do something. Even more frustrating is it to see how many Americans aren't even registred to vote. C'mon people: you've got the chance to make a difference, do something with it!
