For some reason, I seem to be in a love-hate relationship with stress. Yesterday, 15 minutes before I got off work, I suddenly had to call what seemed like the entire team, for some major important chance in software we use for planning. Fortunately, it worked out well and I could go home at 5-ish just as planned. The this morning, I just finished my cigarette, again there was a sudden deadline of 10 AM in getting a document ready which would usually take me more than an hour, but I finished it, again, in time. I guess I work good under stress, and the good thing is that after you've made an important deadline, the well-deserved ciggy afterwards tasts all the more better!
Today is also a happy day at work, since it's my manager's birthday. We bought her a huge bouquet of flowers and nice bling bling earrings, that she, judging from her reaction, really liked. So that called for a bit of casual chitchat, which is always nice, especially since yesterday someone got fired and another one got an official warning. It's always good to have some casual fun after harsh decisions have been made, to sort of take the edge of things.
Tonight, after I get off work, I need to run to the recordstore, cause today finally Madonna's 1987 movie Who's That Girl will be released on DVD in the Netherlands, so we all know what I'll be watching this evening! Critics smashed this movie as being one of her worst, but I don't agree. Not only do I think Madonna is not such a bad actor as people write about her, but also, this particular movie is real good fun. I mean, Madonna will never win an Oscar for her acting, but it's definitely not as lousy as general opnion has it.
Anyway, gotta run now, busy day ahead! Cheers!
